Psycology How to grow mushrooms: free teks, species, contamination help, harm reduction and the law.
State-by-state law, US suppliers, and free cultivation guides that cost nothing.
The United States is where most of the hobby lives and where the law is most layered. Psilocybin is Schedule I federally, Colorado has made personal cultivation lawful for adults under state law, Oregon, New Mexico and Utah run supervised programmes, and a long list of cities has made enforcement its lowest priority. None of those layers cancels the one above it.
This page gathers everything on Psycology a US reader needs: the law for every state we track, the US-based vendors in our directory, the writers who grow here, and the free guides, teks and calculators that other publications sell as courses.
Illegal. Schedule I federally, so unlawful everywhere in federal terms. State law varies enormously and is worth reading separately.

Psilocybin is Schedule I under federal law in the United States, whatever this state does.

A field guide to the question every grower asks at 2am: is that white fuzz my mycelium, or is it the thing that ends the grow?
Psilocybin is Schedule I under federal law everywhere in the US. Under state law, Colorado allows adults 21 and over to grow and share, Oregon, New Mexico and Utah allow use only inside licensed or clinical programmes, and most other states treat cultivation as a felony. Several cities have deprioritised enforcement, which is not the same as legal. Read your state's page.
Spores contain no psilocybin and are sold openly for microscopy in most states, but a small number of states ban them outright, and germinating them is cultivation wherever the mushrooms are controlled. Check your state's page before buying.
The directory lists US-based spore, culture and kit vendors with a note on what each ships. Listings are kept to vendors the writers know. Nothing on Psycology is for sale.
With the six-stage Grow Guide, then the Tek Ladder, which puts every guide in the order it should be read, starting with sterile technique and a law check before anything is bought.
